We all know that taijiquan written story starts from Chen Wangting who was 9th generation of taijiquan fighters. What was before pretty much consist of unconfirmed stories. So here some chart I made based on several books.
Tang Ddynasty (618-905 AD) sanshiqi credited to Xuxuanping
sanshiqi consisted of thirty-seven movements similat to thirteen of taijiquan. All movements were based on single postures with no link between them, but principles of each posture were based on I-ching.
Tang though Ming Dynasty (618-1644 AD) xiantianquan credited to Lidaozi.
Movements also base on I-ching and concept of taiji
Liang Dynasty (907-921 AD) houtianfa credited to Hangongyue.
houtianfa consisted of seventeen postures among them ward off, roll back, press push pull, split, elbow and shoulder strike.
Yan Dynasty (1279-1368) Zhangsanfeng created Taosist Qigong beased on I-ching and Shaolin animals dragon, tiger, leopard, snake, and crane which he learn in Shaolin temple. According to legend Zhangsanfeng lived from 1200th through 1400th about 200 years!
After Zhangsanfeng here is following link Wangzong -> Chentongzhou->Zhangsongxi->Yejimei->Wangzoungyue->Jingfa
Jingfa supposively passed taijiquan to Chen family, but there is no strong evidance of that, but there written records of Chen Wangting who actually taught taijiquan to Chen fmily which at that time already practiced different kind of martial arts
