Isn't "tai chi ruler" was design to practice "qin na" aka joint locks? :D

tai chi ruler

Postby vvanesse59 on Tue Feb 10, 2009 9:32 pm

Andrey, I am unsure of what you may be referring to as the tai chi ruler I am involved with is a qigong exercise set. you have the "ruler" between the palms to stimulate the laogong and have a point of focus. Note that the "rocking" motion also stimulates the "bubbling well" in the feet.

I am attaching a clip from youtube that shows one way of doing exercise #2 of the seven exercises that I am teaching. Please note that Dr. Mayer does not use a "ruler" in between hands -- the exercise with the ruler gives a point of focus -- sort of like yoga concentration. There are other ruler and stick sets but I have chosen not the ones that are so vigorous in movements. Thanks for inquiry, Vic
