Personal Development Certification?

Postby Oolong on Fri May 01, 2009 5:07 pm

I know Master Tsao and Tai Chi Healthways Association offer varying instructor level certifications based on specific requirements to help certify taiji instructors (which is certainly needed these days), but does Master Tsao or the Association have any thoughts or plans for a "personal development" style certification for those that might be interested in having their taiji skills evaluated and certified just for their own personal growth or development (not specifically to teach or instruct others)? Or even certification in a specific form or routine that is offered by Master Tsao and the Association (e.g. "Certified in Yang Style Simplified 24 Form")?

Just curious.

Disclaimer: I am speaking for myself, not for Master Tsao or Tai Chi Healthways :-)

The certification process wants to make sure that the person understands the foundations of Tai Chi as a whole, not just one specific style. Learning various forms and styles is part of a comprehensive Tai Chi curriculum promoted by Master Tsao and his teacher, Li Deyin.
I think the certification process is valuable even if you don't intend to teach (yet).

It is very correct that training process is invaluable. Especially presently, when you do not know as when it is useful to you in a life... Correctly I think?
